The island's homes, kept.

A year-round home caretaking service for Martha's Vineyard, currently in development. Join the founding list to help shape the service — and be first to know when we launch.

01 — Purpose

More than half the island's homes — 9,698 by the latest Census Bureau survey — stand quiet for most of the year, an ocean away from the people who love them. Between visits, their owners are left to hope: that the heat held, that the storm passed by, that someone would notice if it didn't. MV Caretaking is being built to replace that hope with certainty.

02 Services

Designed for the house you're not in.

The service menu we are developing. Feedback from the founding list determines what launches first.

  1. 01

    Regular home checks

Scheduled off-season walkthroughs covering every room and system — heat, moisture, roof, security — documented with a timestamped photo report delivered after each visit.

    Off-season
  2. 02

    Storm preparation and follow-up

Furniture secured, doors checked, drains cleared before weather arrives, followed by a documented inspection after every major storm.

    Year-round
  3. 03

    Seasonal opening and closing

Spring openings and fall closings managed end to end — water systems, heating, and the full checklist — so the house is ready when you arrive and protected when you leave.

    Spring · Fall
  4. 04

    Contractor coordination

Access provided, work supervised, results photographed, house secured afterward: a single trusted point of contact for every trade that touches your property.

    On demand
  5. 05

    Arrival preparation

Climate set, walkways cleared, essentials stocked on request, so the house is comfortable and ready before you walk through the door.

    Before you arrive
  6. 06

    On-call island presence

An alarm, a burst pipe, a delivery that needs a signature: a trusted local response, already on the island when it matters.

    As needed
03 The report

Every visit, documented.

Caretaking you can verify from an ocean away. Every visit will close with a timestamped photo report, delivered to your inbox and archived in your account — this is the product we are building alongside the service.

  • Timestamped photos of every checkpoint
  • Systems read and recorded, not just glanced at
  • Delivered before we leave the driveway
  • Storm inspections reported inside 24 hours

Working method

Revision Draft 01
Status Holds from the first visit

Three commitments the service is being designed around, written down now, in plain terms, so clients can hold us to them later.

  1. One caretaker per home

Each property is assigned a dedicated caretaker: one person who knows the house, its systems, and how its owners want it kept.

    Coverage
    One name per property
  2. Documented visits

Every visit concludes with a timestamped photo report, archived and accessible: a verifiable record, not a verbal assurance.

    Timestamped photo record
  3. A single point of contact

Whatever the house needs — an inspection, a contractor, an urgent response — it starts with one call or message, and we manage it from there.

    One call starts it
05 About

Built on transparency.

MV Caretaking is in development. Before launching, we are speaking directly with Vineyard homeowners so the service reflects how island homes are actually used, and what their owners need most.

No services are sold or booked on this site today. When we launch, founding-list members are notified first, with priority onboarding and preferred founding rates.
